Todd F. Adkins

Todd Frederick Adkins, of Delmar Maryland, life here on earth was completed on Friday, September 26, 2025, after a courageous and heroic battle with kidney cancer. Born to his loving parents, Paula Phillip Jones and Rodney Clark Adkins on September 12, 1975, Todd was their first born. Although Todd's journey on earth only lasted 50 short years, he made a huge impact on everyone he came in contact with. Todd faced any challenge thrown his way with resilience, sailing through the storm with determination, bravery and always wanting to make sure everyone else was okay. Since leaving the womb, Todd had a love for the outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing, which he loved to share with family and friends any chance he got. Hunting for years at Doe Alley Hunt Club, alongside his dad, Rodney, was a true highlight for him. Most recently, Todd began crafting custom fishing rods with his wife Kristy, a testament to his desire to share his passion for fishing with others. Todd was a jack of all trades with his mechanic, carpenter and handyman skills. His woodwork was a true monument to his talent, and he loved making keepsakes for others. Most recently making his granddaughter, Aloura, a custom toy box and bookshelf. Raised in Fruitland, Maryland, Todd participated in Fruitland Little League baseball and was active in the Boy Scouts. As a teenager, he developed his true passion Go-kart racing. Todd competed for several years in the number 12 go-kart, sponsored by Robinson Speed Shop. His dedication, drive, and determination on the track were evident, leading to numerous victories and a feature in the local paper after winning the Super Stock race at Mardela Speedway. His involvement in racing honed his mechanical skills, which he utilized later in life. On Sundays, when not outdoors, Todd enjoyed watching NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt, Sr. being his favored driver. Todd was a graduate of James M. Bennett High School class of 1993. Following high school, Todd worked as a mechanic at Courtesy Chevrolet, in Salisbury, Maryland, before starting his career with Wicomico County on March 29, 1999, as a mechanic at the Roads Division. On February 25, 2010, Todd transferred to the Solid Waste Division, where he remained throughout his career. Todd also worked for several years for Chip's Repair and Towing in Snow Hill, Maryland. Todd has made numerous lifelong friendships throughout his career which he valued. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Rodney C. Adkins; paternal grandparents, Emma Lee and Benjamin Adkins; maternal grandparents Frederick (Freddie) and Mary Phillips; and a paternal uncle Bruce Adkins. Todd is survived by his wife, Kristy Doyle, Delmar, Maryland; his mother, Paula Phillips Jones (Terry), Salisbury Maryland; and his daughter Katelynn Adkins (Raymond), Salisbury, Maryland. In addition to his wife, mother and daughter, Todd is survived by his two grandchildren, Aloura and Elias Vandriessche, Salisbury, Maryland, two sisters Ronda Lewis (Dan), Salisbury, Maryland and Carrie DiMare (Jeremy) Eden, Maryland, his niece and nephews, Naythan and Natalee Lewis, Matthew and Ayden DiMare, aunt and uncles, Sam Phillips (Tonya), Aileen Luffman (Ralph), Wayne Adkins, cousins Sean, Craig, Anna, Kelly, Joyce, Charlotte, Brian, Chad, Brandi, and Stephanie and his mother in law, Yvonne Carroll (Charles) Fruitland, Maryland. Todd has two step daughters, Allison and Kylie, from his first marriage to Tracey Brimer (Cliff), Delmar, Maryland, whom he maintained a friendship with until his passing. And his devoted companion, man's best friend, Yeager (Yaya) and anyone he considered family. Todd demonstrated strength and determination until his final moments. Despite his untimely departure, the family extends gratitude to the dedicated staff at Coastal Hospice by the Lake, who ensured his comfort and the well-being of his family and friends during his last days. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:00pm at Melson Community Hall, located at 32726 Melson Road, Delmar, Maryland, this will be a time for fellowship in honor of Todd's Life. Attendees are welcome, though not required, to wear Todd's favorite color, blue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Todd's honor and legacy to Coastal Hospice by the Lake at PO Box 1733 Salisbury, Maryland 21802-1733.
