Myra B. White

On September 10, 2021 Myra Baker White passed away peacefully at The Mackie and Pam Stansell House Coastal Hospice at the age of 94 years. Born in Delmar, DE on July 07, 1927, Mrs. White was predeceased by her husband of fifty-six years, Kenneth L. White, her son Kevin L. White and sisters Kathleen Taylor and Caraleigh Carey. Mrs. White is the daughter of Christopher Oran Baker and Ethel Mae Baker of Delmar, DE. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Hunter Pollitt (John Waddle) and Robin Pollitt (Linda), and daughters, Bonnie Smith and Valerie Whalen (John), grandchildren Brad Pollitt, Kimberly Moore, and Kara Lewis; great-grandchildren Chloe Lewis, Skyler Lewis, Jeremy Moore, Peyton Moore, and Blakelyn Moore, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her employment career included service to Delmarva Power and Light, Montgomery Wards Department Store, in Salisbury, MD and Suburban Propane in Fruitland, MD where she was employed for twenty-seven years. In retirement Mrs. White became a homemaker, later to establish residency in Port St. John, FL. where she lived with her husband for five years prior to their move back to Nanticoke, MD. Mrs. White dedicated her time and talent to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Tyaskin, MD where she faithfully served as President of the Episcopal Church Women’s Group and Vestry Committee member. Mrs. White subsequently served All Saint’s Episcopal Church as Lector and acolyte and member of the ECW. A visitation and joint funeral service will be held for Kenneth and Myra White on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at All Saint’s Episcopal Church; 100 North Tenth Street. Delmar, DE, beginning at 10:00 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we request that masks must be worn by everyone attending the visitation and service. Interment to follow at Wicomico Memorial Park, 721 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mackie and Pam Stansell House, 1500 Ocean Parkway, Ocean, Berlin, MD 21811. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
