Madelyn Elaine Beideman

Sharptown--It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Madelyn Elaine Beideman's passing. Known affectionately as Lynn, she left us peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD. Born on March 16, 1948, in Syracuse, NY, Lynn was raised surrounded by a loving family that included her parents, Robert and Florence (Huff) Rothwell, and her many siblings. She filled her life with love, creativity, and a generous spirit that will be deeply missed. Lynn had a diverse and fulfilling career. Early in her life, she worked for the social security office in Baltimore, MD before transitioning to working in the medical records department at Franklin Square hospital. She devoted time to raising her family in South Carolina before returning to Maryland. She trained and spent several years as a corrections officer for Wicomico County Department of Corrections, notably achieving the rank of Sergeant while there. Lynn then went on to work with Talbot County's Detention Center before retiring from corrections. Her journey did not stop there; she also showcased her talent as a floral designer at Benedict the Florist and later returned to her medical roots to work in medical records again before becoming a skilled medical billing specialist. Lynn was a dedicated wife to her husband, Donald, mother to her daughter, Deborah Elaine, and a cherished "Mimi" to her granddaughter, Brianna Lynn. Through the years she highlighted her sewing talent, sewing for her family, from customized clothing for her daughter as a child, to her own wedding dress, many Halloween costumes, and even a beautiful christening dress for her granddaughter. Anyone who knows Lynn can attest to her exceptional cooking skills. She had a magical ability to turn simple ingredients into delicious meals. She had a critical eye for designing floral pieces and created many bouquets and corsages for special events in the family. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support made her not just a mom, but a wonderful encourager and a phone prayer warrior, always ready to pray for those she loved. She had a generous heart and was always ready to help-friends and strangers alike felt her warmth and kindness. Lynn's favorite pastime was her phone chats with friends and family. She believed in the power of connection through conversation and the ritual was a testament to her commitment to nurturing the relationships that meant the world to her. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Donald Beideman, her daughter, Deborah Cramer, her granddaughter, Brianna Cramer, step-son Donald Beideman II, step-daughter Maribeth, and extended family members Cathy, Shelly, and Don, who were like siblings to her. She also leaves behind her siblings Gregory, Thomas, John, Daniel, David, and Martha; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, some of whom she had a close, almost parental, bond with. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Jr, Barbara, Steven, Paul, and Teresa. A memorial service to celebrate Lynn's life will be held at a future date, giving family and friends the chance to gather and remember the joy she brought into our lives. In this time of sorrow, we are grateful for the memories Lynn created and the love she shared with all of us. Her warm and generous legacy will continue to be nurtured in the daily connections we make with those we love. Her spirit will live on in the memories we cherish. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
