Jason Parker Abbott Glasgow

Jason Parker Abbott Glasgow, of Manchester, Maryland, formerly of Delmar, husband, proud father, son, brother, cousin and friend to many, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. He was 37 years old. Jason was born August 11, 1986 in Baltimore, a son of Penny Abbott Glasgow of Delmar and Freddie Russell Glasgow of Eden. Sports were his life in his younger days as he played baseball many years in the Delmar Little League and Delmar Pop Warner Football. Jason was a lifelong Raiders fan and stuck with them through good times and the bad. Throughout high school he enjoyed his work at the Old Mill Crabhouse. He graduated from Delmar High School with the class of 2004, where he played quarterback and occasionally as a tight end for the football team and also played baseball. After a few college classes Jason worked as a Foreman for ASPLUNDH from 2010-2014 before working as a lineman for Delmarva Power from 2014-2016. His pride and joy was his daughter, Seneca and he was a proud and devoted father to her. He was always there for her to support her in her cheerleading competitions as a Cheer Dad, loved helping her with her homework, cooking with her and just spending quality time together. Jason had a green thumb and loved growing many different types of plants in his garden. He will be remembered as an extremely humble man who wanted a simple life with family, for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness and respect to others and his unwavering devotion to his family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 15 years, Laura Anne Schaefer; his beloved daughter, Seneca; his brother, Freddie Glasgow; aunt, Ilah M. Preston and husband, Chris; cousins, CJ Preston and wife, Heather, Keith Preston and wife, Leslie, Alan Preston and wife, Alex, and Keith A. “Artie” Abbott, Jr; his in-laws, Robert and Cynthia Schaefer; sisters-in-law, Christine Marie Rule and husband David and Brooke Kiatta and husband, Greg; brother-in-law, James Schaefer and wife, Rachel; and his dogs, “Lady” and Babe.” He was preceded in death by grandparents and an uncle, Keith A. “Artie” Abbott, Sr. A celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
