Edward Charles Patrick Feeney

Princess Anne, MD-It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Charles Patrick Feeney, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who left this world peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his family. Born on October 30, 1940, in Salisbury, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Patrick Feeney and Doris Marie (Morris) Burnham. When Eddie was a child, his mother decorated his bedroom in cowboy items, and he developed a great love of cowboys and Western movies. He remained a cowboy at heart throughout his adult years, collecting cowboy hats, clothing, and horses. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family in Ocean City, Maryland, where he would routinely ask his family to ride a historic carousel with him. He always rode on his favorite horse – the same one that he rode as a child when he visited the boardwalk with his grandparents. As Eddie was passing peacefully at home, his family told him, “You will be the best cowboy in heaven.” During his “growing up” years, Eddie was a boy scout platoon leader, a beach photographer, a football and basketball player in high school. He proposed to his beautiful high school sweetheart, Joyce Ann (Kotarides) Feeney, at Johnny’s and Sammy’s restaurant, and they married in June of 1962. He was dedicated to lifelong learning, attending Goldey-Beacom College and continuing to receive a Masters and Ph.D. from the International Bible Institute and Seminary. Eddie had a natural ability to write music, sing, and play the guitar. In less than one year, he wrote the words and music to 34 songs. His musical talents were likely inherited from his mother who played the guitar and his father who played the piano. Eddie had several career contributions. In addition to serving in the United States military (Army) during the Vietnam War, he was commissioner of the town of Delmar, Maryland; a finance manager; a professional analyst during NASA’s Apollo Mission; a minister, evangelist, chaplain, counselor; and a past commander of the American Legion. He owned a religious gift shop in Delmar, MD (Shillelagh Industries), and pastored a church in Wango, MD. (Jesus Christ of Nazareth Ministries) for many years. It was his love and faith in Jesus that led him to touch countless lives with his unwavering dedication to helping others. For example, he regularly ministered in nursing homes where he sang to residents frequently and each year distributed gifts. In a counseling role, he also worked with veterans, knowing first-hand the trials that veterans face in “coming home” and processing their experiences. He fervently believed in spreading the message of hope and love to all who crossed his path. He always encouraged his children and grandchildren to “be true to yourself.” His teachings and kindness will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Eddie was proud of his Irish heritage, and he was passionate about family and continuing family traditions. He especially loved to celebrate Christmas, with everything that it entailed, making each Christmas magical for his children and grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann (Kotarides) Feeney; his son, Edward C. Feeney, Jr. and his wife Dana Feeney; his daughter Brooke C. Feeney; his daughter Kristin K. Clendaniel and her husband Michael Clendaniel; as well as his caring sisters, Joyce Ingraham and Dollie Glasgow, and her husband Johnny Glasgow. He also leaves behind a legacy of love, embodied in his grandchildren, Logan A. Clendaniel, Holden A. Clendaniel and his wife Michaela Clendaniel, Rory B. Clendaniel and her fiancé Dacey Hagedorn, Alexander E. Feeney, and his great-granddaughter, Lyla Rose Hagedorn. Additional family members include his cousins, Ernest and Carol Clark and family, Clifton L. Morris and family, Samuel and Denise Workman, Travis Workman and Family and Dylan Workman; his nieces and nephews, Pamela and Steve Trader, Jordan and Melba Miller (and Joanna and Halen Miller), Tyler Miller (and Maddox Miller), Greg and Bobbi Ingraham, Brandon Ingraham and Hunter Hite, Rebecca and Matthew Murrell (and Hudson and Moses Murrell), Charles Ecker, Austin Davidson, E.J. Glasgow, and many more loving relatives and wonderful friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Charles Patrick Feeney and Doris Marie (Morris) Burnham; his beloved nephew David Charles (Chuckie) Ingraham; his loving nieces April Mae Ecker and Ciera Parkinson; his uncle and aunt, Samuel and Dollie Workman; his cousins, Doris Lee and Sheree Workman, and his beloved brother David L. Ingraham. A graveside service will be held in his honor at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:30 PM where friends and family are invited to join together to celebrate Eddie's remarkable life. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joel Beiler. A post-service gathering and celebration of life will be held at the home of Eddie’s niece and nephew at 7940 Pintail Drive, Parsonsburg, MD 21849. In memory of Eddie, contributions may be sent to U.S. Vets (usvets.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to combating veteran homelessness and to providing housing, employment programs, mental health services, and all-around support for veterans and their families.
