Bob Tomlinson

Bob Tomlinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, of Bridgeville, and formerly of Davidsonville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024. Bob was born August 3, 1942 in Knox City, Texas, a son of the late Roy and Eleanor Susie (Gipson) Tomlinson. Not long after graduation Bob joined the US Army and proudly served his country for 4 years. He worked in sales for most of his adult life, first in the food service industry, before retiring after many years of service as a government contractor for American Amplifier Co. He was a member of Union Methodist Church in Bridgeville, where he served several years on the Church Council and Finance Committee, Past President of the Bridgeville Kiwanis, a member of Miles Lodge #898 in Texas and a Shriner. Bob’s passion was sports and his favorite team was the Washington Nationals. Golf was also a favorite hobby of his and he played at Heritage Shores or Hooper’s Landing as much as he was able to. Bob was known for his outgoing and charismatic personality, which made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went. Some of Bob’s best memories were times spent with his family, taking vacations, sharing holidays or supporting grandchildren and all the nieces and nephews in their activities. Too well loved to EVER be forgotten He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline Krauss Tomlinson; daughter, Jacque Hurman and husband, Michael Wilton; grandchildren, Jake Hurman, Ryan Orr and wife Katie Beth and Jake Wilton; great grandson, Wyatt Orr; and many generations of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his four-legged sidekick, “Bella.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Phil Tomlinson. A church service will be held on Saturday, February, 17th at Union Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws Street, Bridgeville, Delaware 19933, at 12:00 p.m., where a visitation will be held from 11:00 am-12:00pm. A luncheon will take place at the church immediately after the service.
